I think I will start posting more about orphans and adoption!
Today I am posting a video I found on another blog
I think it will take me a while to actually fully understand what I watched and to see what life is like for so many people and kids in different countries.

I am so thankful for my parents, my family and friends. I am thankful that I was raised in a loving and caring home, that we always had food there, that we had running water and a heater. I am so thankful that I was able to go to school and now to college so that I will be able to provide for myself in the future.

There need to be more ppl who want to help in order to give kids like Jane, Sam and Esther a better life!

THIS breaks my heart... And I feel led to help.

Photoshop is sooo amazing!! Everyone should check it out!!
We had some friends over and went to a gorgeous park! I took pics of Nicole and Momo!!


I LOVE the first pic of Nicole. I like that she is "trying" to smile, but I noticed her feet were missing (I need to practise photography a little more, then I wouldnt make those mistakes), so I took a couple more pics. The thing was, she had weird face expressions in the rest of them! I was a little frustrated. Thurday I had my photoshop class and now I am able to do this!!!

I opened both in Photoshop and this is what I got!!! :)


Then I ran it through lightroom and now it's just perfect! Well at least in my opinion!! Just remember I just started learning how to use some functions of Photoshop and I am not even close to using those propper!! I probably made amillion mistakes editing this pic but I think it turned out great!!

Adoption

I have a dream!

I want to adop children one day. I want to give those kids a home that dont have one. I have had this dream since I can think ( ok maybe since I was 15) and I love to learn more about adoption or follow blogs of families on their adoption journey! I think this is what I am supposed to do. I don't think this is some idea, but Gods plan in my life. There are different coutries I feel drawn to adopt from. Ethiopia, China and Russia for example.

I feel very strongly about Ethiopia though. Why?

• One in six children die before their fifth birthday

• 44% of the population of Ethiopia is under 15 years old

• 60% of children in Ethiopia are stunted because of malnutrition

• The median age in Ethiopia is 17.8 years

• 1.5 million people are infected with AIDS (6th highest in the world)

• 720,000 children have been orphaned by AIDS alone, and there are 4.6 million orphans in Ethiopia.

• Per capita, Ethiopia receives less aid than any country in Africa

• In the 90s the population (3%) grew faster than food production (2.2%)

• Drought struck the country from 2000-2002 (first year no crops, second year no seeds, third year no animals)

• Half the children in Ethiopia will never attend school. 88% will never attend secondary school.

• Coffee prices (Ethiopia’s only major export) fell 40-60% from 1998-2002.

• Ethiopia’s doctor to children ratio is 1 to 24,000.

• In 1993, after 30 long years of war, Eritrea broke from Ethiopia and became an independent nation leaving Ethiopia landlocked without any major seafaring ports.

I also feel led to adopt a child with down syndrom one day. I know this might seem weird to many but there are so many kids out there that deserve a loving home and many of those are special needs. My cousin has down syndrom so this is something I have grown up with and I feel strongly about. There are many down syndrom kids in orphanages in Russia or the Ukraine for example. The first years of their life they spend in an orphanage, but then they go to institutions and most of them die there within a year. I think that is horrible. They deserve to live! So this is something I feel led to do and I hope and pray that I will be able to give some kids a home who werent as fortunate as I am.

photoshop rocks!!

i have been practicing my photoshop skills some more!!

i am now able to make make a wall, not just to erase stuff!!

i am able to let people disappear!!

and i can also let wrinkles around the eyes go away!!

i think i am FAR away from getting the hang of photoshop, but i found an easy way out! i edit the color in lightroom (so much easier there) and then i do the rest in photoshop!!

Let me share a little secret...

I LOVE long haired cows!! Those fluffy ones.
I think they are beautiful....
I want one in my back yard!!!!!!

This picture was taken on Borkum! He got mad at the camera, started making some loud sounds and came straight toward us!! I still wanted to take him home and all his calves in the background as well! Ok and I would of course take their moms as well, since everyone deserves a mom and a dad!! I can imagine them in my back yard... Well.... I actually dont have a back yard, but I have a balcony, does that count??
We could make it work!

I also wouldn't mind owning one of these!!
